Settling an estate outside Rutland meant somebody had to deal with a Chaparral nobody wanted to keep or sell. It had belonged to a relative who used it on nearby lakes every summer until health kept him off the water the last couple seasons, and after that it just sat in the side yard collecting leaves. The family tried listing it once things settled down, but the asking price kept getting talked down until it wasn't worth the hassle of showing it anymore. What made the pickup slow was the ground itself, wet from a week of rain, soft enough that we laid boards under the trailer wheels before backing in to avoid sinking. Took an extra pass to get the angle right. Once loaded, the interior was stripped for anything sellable and the hull went to the recycler.
