Boat Removal in Burlington, Vermont

That Hobie catamaran hadn't touched Lake Champlain water in at least eight years when the call came in. It had been bought secondhand for a summer of sailing lessons that never really took off, then it sat, first under a cover, then without one once the cover wore through. Trying to sell a small catamaran with sun-bleached hulls and a torn sail turned out harder than expected, two listings, no serious offers either time. A letter about yard clutter finally pushed it to the top of the list. The trailer frame had rusted enough at the crossmember that we weren't confident it would hold the load moving, so we reinforced the connection point before towing rather than risk the hulls shifting on the road. Once secured, the pull itself was easy, catamarans come apart light. We separated the hulls, aluminum crossbar, and mast for recycling, and the old sail went out with regular disposal.

Crews cover all of Chittenden County: Burlington, South Burlington, Colchester, Essex Junction, Williston, Milton, Charlotte, and Hinesburg all sit inside our regular Lake Champlain route. Driveway pickups here run steady across the season, with sailboats and small hulls making up a good share of the calls. Franklin County gets the same coverage, so a call from Saint Albans or Swanton rides along on the same trip.
