San Marcos, CA: 34 ft Silverton Gone in One Morning

A 34 ft Silverton 34 motor yacht had been sitting on blocks in a San Marcos driveway for a decade, covered in a blue tarp that was doing almost nothing to stop the fiberglass from going soft. The trailer underneath had settled unevenly, and the whole rig was wedged between a fence line and a neighbor's property in a way that made a straight pull impossible. We'd have to angle the boat off the blocks, get it onto a different trailer, and work it backward down a narrow driveway that opened onto a residential street with power lines overhead. The crew showed up early and spent the first part of the morning stabilizing the hull on temporary supports and breaking down the old trailer. Once we had the Silverton on a heavy-duty rotator, we could swing it clear of the fence without dragging. Most of the job was patience and measurement, not muscle. We routed the rig out toward Oceanside to our processor, where the fiberglass got cut down and prepped for recycling. The whole thing took most of a morning from first wrench to final departure. We cover all of San Diego County: San Diego, Chula Vista, Oceanside, Escondido, Carlsbad, El Cajon. Most pickups happen same week. San Marcos sits right in the middle of our route, and we see a lot of boats moving in and out of storage facilities along the I-78 corridor, especially when owners decide they're done with the upkeep. A call on Monday usually means we're there Thursday or Friday, depending on what else is staged.
