Hauling a bowrider out of a San Rafael driveway

A 19 ft Wellcraft 196 bowrider was sitting in a driveway in San Rafael with a torn mooring cover packed full of leaves and two flat trailer tires. The owner had moved it there years back thinking he'd restore it, then life got in the way. The boat stayed. By the time he called, the hull was starting to oxidize under the cover and the trailer had settled into the asphalt. Getting it out meant more than just hooking up. The driveway was tight, bordered by a fence on one side and a neighbor's property line close on the other. We couldn't use a standard angle approach. The crew backed a heavy rotator in from the street, ran a rigging line under the bow, and winched the whole rig forward inch by inch until we had enough room to swing the trailer nose toward the exit. The flats came off, we set down temporary dollies, and we pulled it out toward Mill Valley Road in one push. Most of a morning, start to finish. Once it was on the truck, the Wellcraft went to our processor in Marin County. The fiberglass hull was cut down for material recovery, and the trailer was recycled. Title was handled per California rules. The driveway was clear. Crews cover all of Marin County: Novato, Mill Valley, Larkspur, San Anselmo, Tamalpais-Homestead Valley, Corte Madera. We handle pickups same week most of the time. A lot of boat owners in San Rafael move their rigs in and out of storage facilities along the coast, and we've got the routes dialed in to make that work without the back-and-forth calls.
