Hauling a bowrider out of a Santee driveway

A 19 ft Stingray 195 bowrider had been sitting in a Santee driveway for three seasons. The swim platform was delaminated, and the fiberglass showed the wear of years parked under the California sun. The trailer was still serviceable, but the real problem was access. The boat sat about forty feet back from the street, and the driveway narrowed where it met the property line, making it tight for a full-size recovery truck to angle in and get a clean pull. We brought the trailer-rated winch up from the truck bed, ran the line to the boat's frame, and worked it forward in stages. The tight approach meant we couldn't just power-haul it straight out. We'd pull twenty feet, reposition, pull another twenty. The whole job ran under two hours. Once the Stingray was loaded and secured, we routed it to the San Diego County processor where the hull was cut and the fiberglass was recycled per state regulations.
