Schenectady, NY: 13 ft Boston Whaler Gone in One Morning

A 13 ft Boston Whaler 13 sat in a yard off Rotterdam Avenue for three seasons. The foam core had gone waterlogged years back, and the whole hull weighed twice what it should have. The galvanized trailer underneath had rusted through at both axles and bent so far that the boat tilted forward like it was trying to crawl away. Getting it out meant we couldn't use a standard winch pull. The trailer wouldn't hold the weight, and the ground was soft from spring melt. We brought a flatbed, carefully jacked the skiff off those bent frame rails, and loaded it straight onto the truck bed. The whole job ran under two hours, even with the extra work to keep the hull stable during the move. From there, the Boston Whaler went to the processor upstate. Waterlogged fiberglass gets cut down and sorted. Aluminum fittings, hardware, and what's salvageable gets pulled out first. The rest gets recycled according to New York environmental rules.
