Springfield, OH: 17 ft Glasspar Seafair Gone in One Morning

A 17 ft Glasspar Seafair sat in a Clark County driveway for years, hull chalked and soft in places, the fiberglass gone past the point anyone was going to restore it. The vintage trailer underneath had collapsed, one wheel rusted solid and the frame sagging so far the boat's keel rested on the ground. The owner had held onto it thinking maybe he'd fix it someday. One morning he decided that day wasn't coming. The boat was boxed in by a fence and a detached garage, with maybe three feet of clearance on either side. We couldn't use a standard trailer pull because the frame was compromised. The crew jacked the hull up on airbags, built a temporary wooden base under the keel, and loaded it onto our flatbed in pieces, cutting the boat down rather than risk dragging a compromised frame through the yard and into the street. The whole job ran most of a morning. The hull went to the processor in New Carlisle for recycling, and the trailer scrap got separated out for metal recovery. Crews cover all of Clark County: Moorefield, Northridge, New Carlisle, Park Layne, Harmony, Enon. Most jobs move same week, depending on route. We see a lot of seasonal storage moves through Springfield, boats coming out in spring and heading back into covered storage come fall. That timing usually works in our favor for scheduling.
