Sunken Boat Removal in Coos Bay, OR

Winter storms on the Oregon coast don't leave much intact, and a 27 ft wood-hulled cruiser took the worst of one after its mooring line parted overnight. It washed up against a mudflat with the tide, hull already taking on water through seams that had been failing for a while before the storm finished the job. The bigger obstacle was the mud itself, soft enough that our trailer couldn't approach without sinking to the axles, so we brought in mats to build a temporary path and winched the hull out across them in short pulls. Wood boats don't tow the same as fiberglass, weight distributed differently and planking that flexes under strain, so we kept the pulls slow and steady rather than fast. Took the better part of a morning, tide included.
