Hauling a sailboat out of a Tampa storage lot

A 25 ft O'Day 25 sat in a Hillsborough County yard for years, keel bolts weeping rust down the fiberglass hull in long orange streaks. The sailboat had come to rest on cinder blocks after the owner's plans to restore it never materialized, and by the time we got the call, the trailer underneath had settled into the dirt and wasn't going anywhere on its own. Getting it out meant jacking the hull clear of those blocks, repositioning the trailer, and dealing with the weight of a keeled sailboat that wanted to tip sideways every time we shifted it. The mast had already come down years before, which saved us a headache, but the keel itself was still bolted in place. We handled the extraction under a morning's work, then transported the boat back to our yard where we pulled the keel and cut the hull down for processing. No title was in the drawer, so we worked through the Florida documentation rules and got it routed to the recycler. We cover all of Hillsborough County: Brandon, Riverview, Town 'n' Country, University, Plant City, Valrico. Most calls come same week or the week after. A lot of what we see in Tampa is boats pulled out of storage for the season and then abandoned when owners realize the repair costs, or the opposite,boats that came out of the water and never made it back.
