A 34 ft Silverton 34 had been sitting in a driveway in Tracy for nearly a decade under a blue tarp. The fiberglass hull was chalked, the cabin windows fogged over, and the whole boat was mounted on stands that had begun to settle unevenly into the ground. The owner had bought it years ago with plans to restore it, but life moved on, and the boat stayed put. Getting it out meant dealing with a trailer that wasn't going anywhere on its own. The stands had sunk, and the rig was heavier than a straight haul-up. We brought in a heavy rotator and worked the boat free from the stands, then loaded it onto our trailer with a flatbed assist. The crew routed through Stockton to avoid low bridges on the direct route. Most of a morning, start to finish. The hull went to our processor in California for responsible fiberglass recycling.
