Hauling a skiff out of a University driveway

A 13 ft Boston Whaler 13 skiff had been sitting in a driveway in University for three years. The foam core was waterlogged, the hull was heavy, and the galvanized trailer underneath it had bent so badly the axle was no longer square. The owner had tried to sell it twice. No one wanted to haul it away, and he'd stopped answering calls about it. Getting it out meant dealing with a soft driveway that couldn't take a heavy tow vehicle straight on, so we came in from the side, set up a portable winch, and pulled the whole rig onto a flatbed at an angle. The waterlogged weight made the boat itself almost unmovable, but once it was on the truck and strapped down, the haul to the processor in Hillsborough County took under an hour. The hull got cut down and routed for recycling. The trailer went to scrap. The driveway was clear. We cover all of Hillsborough County: Tampa, Brandon, Riverview, Town 'n' Country, Plant City, Valrico. University sits right in our service area, and we handle pickups same week most of the time. A lot of folks around here move boats in and out of storage seasonally, especially heading into winter, and we've got the routes dialed in to get them loaded and gone without the back-and-forth.
