Hauling a sailboat out of a Upper Darby pickup

A 27 ft Ericson 27 had been sitting on stands in an Upper Darby yard for years. The portlights were crazed, the interior stripped bare by a previous owner who never finished what he started. The boat wasn't going anywhere, and neither was the owner's patience. The trailer was rusted solid to the stands. We showed up with a crew of four, jacked the hull carefully to break the corrosion bond, and got everything mobile in under two hours. The real work was the route out through Haverford to reach the yard. A 27-footer on an old trailer doesn't turn tight, and we had maybe six inches of clearance in spots. We took it slow, made the move without incident, and had the boat on the dock by early afternoon. Mast was already down and secured. We pulled the keel, cut the hull into manageable sections, and sent the fiberglass to the processor. No title in the drawer, but we handled the paperwork per Pennsylvania rules.
