A 27 ft Catalina 27 sitting in a Westminster driveway had been there long enough for the standing rigging to seize solid and the sails to rot inside their bag. The fiberglass hull was sound, but the boat hadn't moved in years, and the trailer it sat on had settled onto concrete stands sunk into the dirt. The real problem was access. The driveway was narrow, and the boat sat at an angle that meant we couldn't just back a flatbed straight in. We had to angle the trailer, lift the keel clear with a spreader bar, and work the hull forward in stages. The crew spent most of a morning jockeying the rig into position before we could load it. Once we had it on the truck, we routed it to our yard, dropped the mast, pulled the keel, and sent the fiberglass hull to the processor.
