Alexandria, VA: 28 ft Carver Gone in One Morning

A 28 ft Carver 28 aft cabin cruiser had been sitting on blocks in Alexandria for years, its windows long past holding water and the interior rotted down to the stringers. The owner had kept the registration current out of habit, but stepping aboard meant stepping into soft wood and mold. The trailer underneath had settled into the ground, and the boat's weight had compressed the stands unevenly, which meant we couldn't just winch it straight up. We brought in a crane and a heavy rotator to lift the hull clear, then slid new stands underneath while the boat was suspended. The trailer needed to be rebuilt before we could load, so we did that on-site, got the Carver secured, and towed it out toward Arlington and down to the processor. The whole operation took most of a morning. Once it hit the facility, the hull went into the cut-down bay. Fiberglass that wet doesn't salvage, so recycling was the only path. We cover all of Alexandria city. Most calls come from people with a 28-footer or smaller sitting in a driveway, a slip, or storage. We pick up same week in most cases. Alexandria gets busy in spring when people move boats out of winter storage, and again in fall when they're pulling them back in. We've hauled plenty of Carvers out of Alexandria. Give us the address and whether it's on a trailer, and we'll tell you what day we can be there.
