A 27 ft Cal 27 came to us in Washtenaw County with a corroded mast at the step and the boom already gone. The owner had kept it on stands in his yard for years, figuring he'd restore it someday. He didn't. One afternoon he called and said he needed the space back. The trailer hadn't moved in so long the stands had sunk into the ground a few inches, and the fiberglass hull had settled unevenly. We brought a heavy-duty lift and extra blocking, jacked the boat level, and worked it onto our trailer without torque on the keel. Most of a morning, start to finish. We hauled it back to our yard in the same county, pulled the mast and keel at the shop, and sent the hull to be cut down and recycled as composite material.
