Hauling a sailboat out of a Brooklyn Park driveway

A 27 ft Ericson 27 sat on wooden stands in a driveway in Brooklyn Park for three years. The portlights had crazed white, and a previous owner had stripped the interior down to the hull. The boat had come with a trailer, but it was parked on blocks, not wheels, which meant we couldn't just hook and haul. The real obstacle was access. The driveway narrowed toward the street, and the Ericson's beam was wider than most residential lots. We brought a heavy wrecker and a spotter, cut a path through the side yard, and used the wrecker to lift the hull off the stands and onto a hydraulic trailer. The mast had been down for years, so that wasn't an issue. Once we got it to the yard, the keel came out, and the fiberglass hull went to the processor. The whole job ran under two hours from arrival to the last piece off the property. Crews cover all of Hennepin County: Minneapolis, Bloomington, Plymouth, Eden Prairie, Edina, Minnetonka. We pick up boats across the metro same week in most cases. A lot of jobs come in when people move rigs in or out of winter storage, and we're set up to handle that kind of timing without delay.
