Hauling a bowrider out of a Hoffman Estates driveway

An 18 ft Renken 180 bowrider was sitting in a Hoffman Estates driveway with floor plywood crumbling at every step. The fiberglass hull was still solid, but the trailer had dry-rotted tires that wouldn't roll, and the boat had been parked there long enough that the concrete pad underneath had settled unevenly. The owner had kept the registration up, but moving it meant getting it off that trailer without dropping it, then getting both pieces out through a narrow side yard with a fence line maybe twelve feet from the driveway. We backed a heavy-duty tow rig in from the street, set up blocks and a come-along on the Renken itself, and lifted it clear of the trailer in place. Once the hull was free, we could haul the rotted trailer out separately. The whole operation ran under an hour. The Renken went to a recycler in Cook County where the fiberglass gets broken down and the aluminum fittings get sorted. The trailer frame went to scrap.
