Somebody's uncle left behind more than furniture. Along with the house came a Grumman jon boat that had been in the family for decades, stored under a carport and mostly forgotten once he stopped fishing. The estate's executor didn't want to deal with selling something that old and dented, and there wasn't a title anywhere in the paperwork they'd gathered, just an old registration sticker half peeled off the bow. The carport had low crossbeams that made it impossible to lift the boat straight up off its blocks, so we had to tilt it end over end to clear the rafters before setting it on the trailer.
