Hauling a runabout out of a Middletown driveway

An 18 ft Starcraft Holiday 18 sat in a Middletown driveway for three years. The aluminum runabout had a slow leak history, and the single-axle trailer underneath had rusted solid to the frame. The owner had stopped using it long ago, and one day decided he was done looking at it every time he pulled into the garage. The trailer tires were flat and fused to the rims. The hitch had seized. We couldn't roll it, so we brought a heavy-duty dolly and a winch truck. The crew positioned the dolly under the trailer frame, broke the hitch loose with heat and penetrant, and winched the whole assembly onto the truck bed. The job ran most of a morning. We handled the Connecticut title work on the back end, and the aluminum hull went to the metal recycler in the Lower Connecticut River Valley region. We cover all of Lower Connecticut River Valley Planning Region: Lake Pocotopaug, Essex Village, Deep River Center, Westbrook Center, Old Saybrook Center, Chester Center.
