Hauling a sailboat out of a Milton driveway

A 27 ft Ericson 27 sailboat landed in a Milton driveway after someone bought it thinking they'd restore it. The portlights were crazed, the interior gutted down to the fiberglass. The boat sat there long enough that the owner moved on and left it behind. The boat was parked on stands rather than a trailer, which meant we couldn't just hook and pull. We brought equipment to get it stable and mobile, loaded it onto our trailer, and moved it out in most of a morning. Once it was at our yard, we dropped the mast and pulled the keel for recycling, then cut the hull down for processing. We cover all of DuPage County: Aurora, Naperville, Bolingbrook, Wheaton, Downers Grove, Lombard. Milton sits right in the middle of our regular route, so most pickups happen same week. Spring and fall get busy with boats moving in and out of storage facilities around the county, and we schedule those jobs back to back to keep costs down and turnaround fast.
