Portland, ME: 19 ft Celebrity Gone in One Morning

A 19 ft Celebrity 190 sat in a driveway in Portland for three years. The windshield was gone, the hull was full of rainwater, and both trailer tires had been flat so long the sidewalls had started to crack. The owner had moved on, but the boat hadn't. We showed up on a Tuesday morning. The real problem wasn't the boat itself,it was getting it out. The driveway sloped toward the street at an angle that meant we couldn't back the trailer straight, and the soft ground next to the drive wouldn't hold a tow rig. We set up a come-along to the house foundation, angled the hauler in from the side, and worked the whole rig forward in sections. Most of a morning, but steady. No surprises. Once we had it at the yard, we pumped the hull dry, confirmed no title was in the drawer and handled it per Maine rules, and ran the Celebrity through the saw. The fiberglass got baled for the processor in Brunswick County. The aluminum fittings went to scrap. The trailer frame went to salvage. What came in as dead weight left as material.
