Richmond, VA: 14 ft Jon Boat Gone in One Morning

A 14 ft Jon boat 1436 had been sitting half submerged in a yard for two seasons, its aluminum hull dented and packed with leaves, branches, and standing water. No trailer. The owner had moved on and called us to handle what was left behind. The boat was too heavy to winch out dry, so we pumped the water and debris first, then rigged a lift frame to the gunwales and used our crane truck to pull it clear. The hull was too compromised to salvage, but the aluminum had value. We hauled it to the metal recycler in Petersburg, where it was cut down and stacked with other scrap.
