Rochester, MN: 34 ft Silverton Gone in One Morning

A 34 ft Silverton 34 had been sitting on stands in an Olmsted County yard for a decade, covered in a blue tarp that had mostly rotted through. The fiberglass hull was chalky and soft in places, the cabin windows fogged over, and everything underneath had settled into the Minnesota soil. The owner had moved on years ago but never quite dealt with what he'd left behind. The trailer was rusted solid to the ground, and the boat sat heavy enough that jacking it up meant digging out the stands first to keep everything level. We brought a second truck and a small crane to handle the weight distribution, got the Silverton off the trailer in sections, and loaded the hull onto the hauler. Most of a morning's work, start to finish. The boat went to the processor in Rochester where it was cut down and recycled per Minnesota salvage rules. The trailer stayed behind for the owner to handle separately. Crews cover all of Olmsted County: Stewartville, Cascade, Eyota, Oronoco, Haverhill, New Haven. We handle pickups same week most of the time. A lot of boats move in and out of storage facilities around Rochester when the season changes, and we've got the route down to where we can schedule around that without sitting on a job.
