Hauling a bowrider out of a Shelby driveway

An 18 ft Renken 180 bowrider had been sitting in a driveway in Shelby for three seasons. The fiberglass floor was soft,plywood crumbling wherever you stepped. The trailer tires had gone dry-rotted, one flat for so long the rim was sitting on the ground. The owner had tried to sell it once, listed it twice, and finally decided it needed to be gone before the spring thaw made things worse. The crew showed up on a Tuesday morning. The driveway was tight, bordered by a fence on one side and a neighbor's property line close enough that we couldn't swing a full wrecker into position. We brought a smaller tow unit and worked it in at an angle, then used come-alongs to shift the trailer sideways just enough to get clear of the fence. The boat itself was light enough that the soft floor didn't matter once we got it loaded. We had it on the trailer and headed out in under two hours. The hull went to the recycler in Macomb County. No title in the drawer, so we handled the paperwork per Michigan's abandoned vessel rules. The driveway was clear by lunch.
