Sunken Boat Removal in Claymont, DE

The Delaware River doesn't care what's tied off along its banks when the water rises. This Four Winns had been secured to a private dock for years, mostly forgotten after the outboard started giving the owner trouble and repairs kept getting pushed off. When a spring storm pushed the river up higher than usual, the boat took on water faster than the bilge pump could handle and settled against the dock pilings overnight. By morning it was sitting low with the bow barely above the surface. Access was the problem here, the dock itself had narrow decking that couldn't support our equipment, so we worked the recovery from a small work boat instead, running straps under the hull before winching it up onto a waiting trailer on the bank. Once it was out and drained, the interior damage from sitting swamped for hours made it a lost cause. It went to the recycler as scrap, and the dock's clear for whatever comes next.
