Twenty-two feet of waterlogged pontoon deck is not something you tow home with a rope. The outboard died mid-lake two summers back, and rather than pay for a tow that day, the owner just left it tied at the ramp and figured on dealing with it later. Later turned into a lake association letter warning that the boat would be removed at the owner's cost if it sat through another season. The pontoons themselves had taken on enough water that floating it directly onto a trailer wasn't an option, so we ran straps under both tubes and winched it up a boat ramp incline instead, working slow to keep the deck from buckling further. Close to an hour just for that stage. Once it was secure we could see the frame had corroded past saving, so the whole thing is headed for the recycler rather than a buyer.
