Charleston, SC: 14 ft Jon Boat Gone in One Morning

A 14 ft Jon boat 1436 sat in a Berkeley County driveway for three seasons, aluminum hull dented and half full of yard waste and leaves. No trailer underneath it. The boat had been pulled out of service years ago, and somewhere along the way, it became a permanent fixture on the property rather than something anyone planned to haul away. The main challenge wasn't the boat itself. It was the weight and the fact that we had no trailer to work with. The aluminum hull and the accumulated debris inside made it heavy enough that we couldn't simply drag it out to the street. Access was tight, and the driveway sloped toward the house. We brought in a specialized lifting frame, loaded the boat onto our flatbed, and secured it for the trip. The whole job ran under an hour. The Jon boat 1436 went to the metal recycler in North Charleston. Aluminum salvage got a fair return, and the yard waste was disposed of separately. The driveway was clear again.
