Decatur, AL: 17 ft Sea Nymph Gone in One Morning

A 17 ft Sea Nymph 175 aluminum fishing boat had been sitting in a Decatur driveway for three years. The console wiring was chewed up by rodents, gauges were dead, and the trailer tires had gone flat so long ago the rubber had started to crack. The owner had kept meaning to deal with it. He never did. When we showed up, the real problem wasn't the boat itself. It was getting it out. The driveway was narrow, bordered on one side by a fence and on the other by a line of oak trees that had grown in tight. The trailer couldn't roll straight out without clipping either the fence or a low branch. We backed a heavier rig in from the street, set up a winch pull to angle the Sea Nymph at about forty-five degrees, and walked it out slow. Took us under an hour from arrival to loaded. The hull went to the metal recycler in Limestone County. The trailer stayed with the owner. No title in the drawer, so we handled the paperwork per Alabama rules. One less thing in the driveway.
