Hauling a sailboat out of a Royal Oak yard

A 22 ft Catalina 22 had been sitting in a Royal Oak driveway with its mast down and lashed to the deck for years. The swing-keel trailer underneath had flat tires and hadn't moved since the owner lost interest in sailing. He called us after a neighbor mentioned the boat was starting to look like a permanent fixture, and he was tired of explaining it to people walking by. The real problem wasn't the boat itself. The whole job ran under two hours, and we had it off the property before lunch. Back at our facility, we pulled the keel out of the swing mechanism and set it aside for scrap aluminum. The mast came down in sections, and the fiberglass hull went to the processor. The trailer tires and frame got recycled. Nothing went to a landfill.
