Hauling a cabin cruiser out of a Thornton yard

A 24 ft Bayliner 2455 Ciera sat in a Thornton driveway for three years, hull chalky and green algae creeping up the waterline. The tandem axle trailer had rusted solid, and the cabin cruiser weighed enough that standard dollies weren't going to cut it. The real problem was the driveway itself, tight angle to the street, power lines overhead, and a neighbor's fence about six feet from the stern. We brought in a rotator truck and a spotter who walked the route toward Brighton Avenue while the driver threaded the rig backward at an angle that kept the boom clear of the lines. Once we had the hull on the rotator bed, the rusted trailer came apart piece by piece. The whole operation ran most of a morning. The Bayliner went to a recycling facility in Adams County where the fiberglass got sorted from the metal and processed. No title showed up in a drawer, so we handled the documentation the way Colorado law requires. The driveway was empty by noon. We cover all of Adams County: Aurora, Arvada, Westminster, Commerce City, Brighton, Northglenn. Thornton sits right in the middle of our regular route, which means we can usually schedule pickups the same week you call. A lot of boats end up in storage yards or driveways around here during the off-season, and when spring rolls around or someone decides to clear the property, we're already working that area. One call gets your 24-footer loaded and on its way out.
