Loveland, CO: 27 ft Catalina Gone in One Morning

A 27 ft Catalina 27 had been parked on stands in a Loveland driveway for years. The standing rigging was seized solid, and the sails were rotted inside their bag. The owner had inherited the boat from a relative and never launched it. By the time he called, the trailer was sitting low on its stands, the keel was locked in place, and the mast wasn't coming down without a proper hoist. We brought a flatbed and a crane to handle the weight and the angle. The crew disconnected the standing rigging, secured the mast fore and aft, then lifted the whole boat onto the bed. The keel stayed where it was until we got back to the yard. Once there, we pulled the keel, cut the hull down into manageable sections, and routed the fiberglass to the processor. The aluminum mast went to the scrap dealer. The job took most of a morning from start to finish. Crews cover all of Larimer County: Fort Collins, Windsor, Johnstown, Wellington, Berthoud, Timnath. We handle same-week pickups for most calls, and we know the seasonal rhythm around here, spring when boats move out of winter storage, fall when owners bring them back in. A 27-footer like yours moves through the county regularly, and we've got the routes mapped.
