Washington, DC: 20 ft Chaparral Gone in One Morning

This 20 ft Chaparral 204 SSi bowrider had been parked in a District driveway long enough for the windshield frame to crack and the upholstery to go mildewed underneath the cover. Nobody was taking it out anymore. Once a boat sits through a couple seasons without moving, the trailer usually tells the story, and this one did. Both hubs had seized solid, so towing it out under its own wheels wasn't happening. We got a flatbed close enough off the street to run chains under the frame and winch the whole rig, boat and trailer together, straight onto the deck. No slip access, no crane, just a tight driveway and one seized axle to work around. There was no title in the drawer, and that got handled per the District of Columbia page rules before we ever touched the trailer. Most of a morning covered the whole job, load to gone. From there the Chaparral went to the processor, where the fiberglass hull got cut down and the trailer scrapped separately. Nothing left behind, nothing left for anyone to look at.
