Colorado Springs, CO: 18 ft Renken Gone in One Morning

This 18 ft Renken 180 bowrider had been sitting on its trailer since the last owner stopped taking it out, and the floor plywood was crumbling at every step by the time we got the call. Fiberglass hull, small footprint, but nobody was climbing into it without going through to the stringers. The trailer tires were dry-rotted flat on one side, which meant we couldn't just hook up and roll it out the way we normally would. We walked it onto our own dolly a few feet at a time, checked for a title in the drawer, found none, and handled that part per the Colorado page rules. Access off the property line near Fountain wasn't bad once the trailer was out of the way, so loading went quicker than expected. Start to finish it took under an hour once we were on site. The Renken went straight onto the truck and on to the processor, where the hull gets cut down for recycling instead of sitting in another yard in El Paso County. Crews cover all of El Paso County: Security-Widefield, Fountain, Cimarron Hills, Fort Carson, Black Forest, Monument. Most Renkens we pull out of Colorado Springs come off same-week, once we've got the address and trailer details squared away. A lot of these calls happen right around the seasonal shuffle, when folks are moving a boat in or out of storage before winter and decide it's not worth hauling back out again.
